Debut, Dinosaurs, Dead Sea Scrolls & Dazzling Jewels!

Lots of D's this weekend. Lets start off with the debut. Faye's debut was pretty cool, it was a first for me so I was excited. Lots of dancing, lots of ceremonies and lots of fun. The dinner was good, loved the dessert and Hors D'oeuvres. YUMMMMM. All in all, it was fun. The after party unfortunately flopped. There was just way too many people :( and some of the invited couldn't find their way to the entrance of the hotel through the rain. Boooo. Oh well. Hope Faye had an overall good time anyways! :)

Next up, the ROM adventure with the boyfriend was also lots of fun. We went to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit and were educated for a bit. It was interesting and some of the short videos were fascinating to watch. There were private tours you could listen in on during the exhibit, but I'm not really a tour-person sooo... I went ahead on my own. All in all, I really enjoyed it! The dinosaur and Gemstones exhibit were also explored as well as the Biodiversity (animalssssssss!) exhibit too. I took a lot of pics but they're all on facebook. I'll post up some later on :) Or if you have me on facebook, stop by and check out the album of the ROM.

It was a fabulous weekend, and I'm going to miss spending time with the bf for the next 2 weeks while he's away on vacation in HK & Philippines :( Have fun babe! Take lots of pics and bring me back a panda! D= LOLOL kidding. Anyways, my Syracuse trip is this weekend :) I'm going to buy my new laptop while I'm there so WOO! Super excited. ROAD TRIPPPPPP!

MISS UNIVERSE 2009! WHO WILL IT BE?

Miss Vietnam actually doesn't look too bad this year for 2009. Her english is a lot better than that of 2008's Miss Vietnam too! Too bad, I don't think she'll have a very large chance this year :( Indonesia and Malaysia are crazily pretty though!

I love Singapore's traditional costume though . It's a beautiful flower. Miss USA has a really bad camel toe in her costume :( and Miss Japan's not leaving much of an impression although much has to be said on her racy traditional costume. -shakes head- What's wrong with the asian misses of 2009? Step it up ladies! Up against the other 30-something (exaggerated) latinos we have to make our mark! AH!

Other than that little rant, the ladies (on the whole) are looking marvelous and breathtakingly beautiful this year. Lastly, who else is looking forward to see if Miss USA trips and falls this year, following the tradition of the last two Miss USA's ahaha. Guess we'll have to wait til 11pm ET to see! :D

Oh yes ladies, Dean Cain's one of the judges this year! Yummy! ;)

POUTINI!

I don't know where this place is exactly (1112 Queen Street West .... just west of Queen and Dovercourt) but it looks pretty cool and I hope I can try it out one day :D The thought of poutine is making my mouth water so I'll probably grab lunch in a bit haha.

In the meantime, I'm pretty much chilling for the day (like how most of my summer's been) and waiting to go for my golf lesson this afternoon at 5.

Until then, we'll see if I have anything else interesting to say after tonight! haha.

Funny wedding intro + 8-yr old gets dumped :(

A very humourous and unforgettable wedding entrance ! :) Old video I know, but I still love it haha. Makes me laugh everytime. I hope when I get married, it'll be unforgettable like this one, although I dont think I'd want to do it exactly the same way 'cause then it wouldn't be "my own special day".

On the opposite note, young love sucks doesn't it? Cute little boy expresses his views on a girl who dumped him haha.

"I wanna destroy her!"

Anyways, so I scheduled a driving class for tomorrow to get a little more practice driving on the highway , although I've already done that with my parents over the past year but hey, a little bit more practice will probably be better for me in the end. I hope I can get my G on the first try, but after my occasional experience on the highway, I haven't found it to be too difficult merging, and exiting and changing lanes. Ah well, we'll see how it goes I guess!

Besides that, I'm pretty excited for this saturday. Cottage day! WOO! This week is supposed to be the nicest week of the summer so I'm pretty happy about that. Boo to those who can't make it! :( BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO X 10000000000000 LOL. I'm kidding, everyone's got their reasons. S'ok, I'll be soaking up the sun for them. In the meantime , my schedule for university looks awesome, my golf swing is improving and summer's coming to a close (nooooo!) . Okay, that's all for now!

Longest Noodle sets Guinness Record! Oh yumm

"Li Enhai, a Chinese chef who has set the Guinness world record in which he made a 2,852-km-long noodle with one kg of flour, presents his skill in noodle stretching at the opening ceremony of a local hotel in Keshikten city of north China's Inner Mongolia Region."

As a noodle-lover myself, I have to admit this is pretty impressive! I want to eat it ! LOL How long do you think I'd be slurping noodle until I reach the end of it ? Wooww , this is making me hungry now :(

Mellowinggg...

-Sigh- I don't know what it is, but I'm sure the girls will understand me on this one. Sometimes, even though you have a great day and there's nothing wrong with your relationships with family, friends or boyfriend.. sometimes there's still that part at the end of the day where you just don't really feel happy. You're content and no one's hurt you mentally, physically, or emotionally but still... something's off and you can't figure out what it is.

How do I describe this in words? It's like you've found that empty spot in your soul and just want to sit there awhile mellowing with your thoughts.

Does that make any sense? Probably not.

That's what I'm feeling right now and maybe its mixed in with a bit of missing the boyfriend but at the same time that's not the only thing tugging at me. I guess I feel a little lonely at the moment but I'm sure everyone's got their own "off-moments" on even perfectly good days. :)

Anyways, today was a good day, improved my golf swing and learned a lot. Now I just have to put it into practice! :) My fingers hurt, hands are raw and red but damn did it feel good!

Well, here's to an amazing year and eight months my love! <3 Love you lots honey.

New clubs & cheesecake

Had a wonderful day out with a girlfriend, Dee, she's like my sister but unrelated by blood. :( Went to the mall and walked around, ordered her contacts, and I had a lovely little personal cheesecake all to myself. WOOOOOO ! Had a craving for it, and I couldn't resist. I wish I had taken a picture to show you, but unfortunately I dug into it without even thinking of taking a pic. It was delicious though! :)

Other than my cheesecake-craving, I went to Golf Town with daddy today and bought a set of Lady Fairway left-handed golf clubs (I'm only missing the putter to complete the entire set) . They're so light and pretty easy to handle, I'm excited to start breaking them in before my golf lesson tomorrow! Can't wait!

Resort , Driving range & Tree Top Trekking ?!

Talk about an eventful weekend , must say that despite my doubts , it turned out much better than I expected ! Lets start with the resort itself: Horseshoe Resort was HUGE, and when I'm saying huge, I mean the amenities and all the activities surrounded the resort covered so much land it was incredible! I'd say well over 50 acres of land was dedicated to the activities which included two golf courses, ATV & dirt biking , bicycle trails, ski slopes , a driving range/golf club, tree top trekking, hummer adventures, segway trails, and so much more. The activities are a little pricy, but you really do get your money's worth.

My boyfriend and I did Tree Top Trekking but it was definitely a satisfying, fun and physically exhausting workout . The courses were a lot of fun, lots of zip lines and mini-game-challenges to get from one tree to the next. If your girlfriend's the type who doesn't like to do any type of physical activity , then I wouldn't suggest this but for the couples that like to try things that are new, not too difficult to learn and a little outdoorsy , THIS is definitely something worth trying out. Its a slow type of exercise and so much fun along the way. The 3 hours it takes to go through a few of the courses really flies by but by the end of it, its a good feeling to know that yea - you made it through and had fun trying! :) If or when I ever get the chance to do it again, I am most definitely bringing GLOVES to wear LOL . Gripping the cables to get myself across the challenges was the most physically tiring experience but other than that, most of it was just balance and pulling yourself across the ropes and ladders :)

The driving range itself on the property was ginormous, like I mean, 10 acres - sort of - ginormous . The resort was a nice place to relax and get some exercise in but not so much that you wreck your body into exhaustion. There's also a spa if exercising isn't your thing - plus, at the end of the day you could dip into the indoor or outdoor pool, and go for a bit of fine dining at Silks (the resort's restaurant) . Really cool resort to go to and I enjoyed every second of it :) Food was great , the pool & golf was relaxing , entertainment and amenities were awesome and very different from the norm in the city and the staff were all very helpful and really friendly! This resort was definitely true to its 3-star rating :) LOVED IT.
