Talk about an eventful weekend , must say that despite my doubts , it turned out much better than I expected ! Lets start with the resort itself: Horseshoe Resort was HUGE, and when I'm saying huge, I mean the amenities and all the activities surrounded the resort covered so much land it was incredible! I'd say well over 50 acres of land was dedicated to the activities which included two golf courses, ATV & dirt biking , bicycle trails, ski slopes , a driving range/golf club, tree top trekking, hummer adventures, segway trails, and so much more. The activities are a little pricy, but you really do get your money's worth.

My boyfriend and I did Tree Top Trekking but it was definitely a satisfying, fun and physically exhausting workout . The courses were a lot of fun, lots of zip lines and mini-game-challenges to get from one tree to the next. If your girlfriend's the type who doesn't like to do any type of physical activity , then I wouldn't suggest this but for the couples that like to try things that are new, not too difficult to learn and a little outdoorsy , THIS is definitely something worth trying out. Its a slow type of exercise and so much fun along the way. The 3 hours it takes to go through a few of the courses really flies by but by the end of it, its a good feeling to know that yea - you made it through and had fun trying! :) If or when I ever get the chance to do it again, I am most definitely bringing GLOVES to wear LOL . Gripping the cables to get myself across the challenges was the most physically tiring experience but other than that, most of it was just balance and pulling yourself across the ropes and ladders :)

The driving range itself on the property was ginormous, like I mean, 10 acres - sort of - ginormous . The resort was a nice place to relax and get some exercise in but not so much that you wreck your body into exhaustion. There's also a spa if exercising isn't your thing - plus, at the end of the day you could dip into the indoor or outdoor pool, and go for a bit of fine dining at Silks (the resort's restaurant) . Really cool resort to go to and I enjoyed every second of it :) Food was great , the pool & golf was relaxing , entertainment and amenities were awesome and very different from the norm in the city and the staff were all very helpful and really friendly! This resort was definitely true to its 3-star rating :) LOVED IT.
