I'm Not Surprised
Not Everything Lasts
I've Broken My Heart So Many Times,
I Stop Keeping Track.
Talk Myself In
I Talk Myself Out
I Get All Worked Up
And Then I Let Myself Down.
I Tried So Very Hard Not To Loose It
I Came Up With A Million Excuses
I Thought I Thought Of Every Possibility
And I Know Someday That It'll All Turn Out
You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid That I'll Get So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Mmmmm ....
I Might Have To Wait
I'll Never Give Up
I Guess It's Half Timing
And The Other Half's Luck
Wherever You Are
Whenever It's Right
You Come Out Of Nowhere And Into My Life
And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Baby Your Love Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Possibility
Mmmmm ......
And Somehow I Know That It Will All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid I'll Get So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
They Say All's Fair
And In Love And War
But I Won't Need To Fight It
We'll Get It Right
And We'll Be United
And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Being In Your Life Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Single Possibility
Mmmm .....
And Someday I Know It'll All Turn Out
And I'll Work To Work It Out
Promise You Kid I'll Give More Than I Get
Than I Get Than I Get Than I Get
Oh You Know It'll All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid To Give So Much More Than I Get
Yeah I Just Haven't Met You Yet
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Oh Promise You Kid
To Give So Much More Than I Get
I Said Love Love Love Love Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
I think we can all guess where's I'm going with this post. It may be a little long but bear with me, I have a lot of time on my hands and really, if you minded then you wouldn't be reading but anyways let's get to the point.
What's the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend like? I've been reading a lot ebooks by Nora Roberts and it got me thinking, do we really understand what true passionate, stop-your-heart kind of love is like? How do you know he/she's The One? What are the signs? What makes you so sure that your love will be unwavering, faithful, and honest? Most importantly, is it the "forever" kind of love that deep down, all of us long for?
Maybe it's just me, but to some extent I think Nora Roberts has it down pat. She really understands what it is that draws women in to the idea, the concept of and idealistic true love. Reading her ebooks and also a lot of her other novels over the years has made me realize that although it's idealistic, it isn't necessarily impossible for a guy who's perfect for you to exist in a tangible form (yes, that would be in flesh and blood).
When I'm talking about the idealistic perfect dream guy/girl (lets stick with dream guys since I am female and its easier 'cause... face it, we're actually more interested in the theory of the perfect guy), I'm not talking about physical appearances here. Of course we all have our own ideas about the perfect-LOOKING guy but c'mon, the physical impression is always first - the whole love-at-first-sight sorta stuff and that's what catches our eyes, makes our hearts stop, and its always the very first kind of contact between the leading characters in a romance novel. But although it is the looks we see and pay attention to first, when we're faced with reality, obviously the looks department doesn't rank high on the list in the long term. When we're faced with long-term results what are we looking for girls?
That's right, we're looking for the stable guys, the dependable guys, the chivalry, the prince-charming attitudes, the heroes, the cocky-confident guys, the shy-nerdy types who still manage to have a manly side when the situation calls for it, you know the cliches girls. But when it comes down to it, we're looking for all of the above. I know it'll differ for every girl, but at the heart of everything let's face it. We want a guy who's got points in every department; courage, intelligence, loving, caring, dependable, trustworthy, honesty, humility, and just about every other admirable characteristic we can think of along with the side benefit of being TOTALLY HOT and good-looking .
We're looking for the guys who fit and compliment us in every possible way, but at the same time we want a guy who we can affect in a positive way as well. We want the men who challenge us, physically, mentally, intellectually and of course sexually. Obviously it's not easy to find a guy in this world who'll score perfect in every category but we can always try to find the one that comes close right? So here's the questions to ask yourself, do you want the typical hot guy while risking the chance he's an asshole? Or are you willing to sacrifice the cliche of a Prince Charming for the not-so-perfect guy who may end up being perfect for you?
Seems like an easy question to answer right? No, not really because let's face it. We're selfish. Yes girls, I exposed us, we're selfish, we're greedy, and we want the good looking guy. We want the Prince Charming, the Knight in Shining Armour, and every other cliche in the fairytale book. Sorry though, cause they don't exist, so fuck Prince Charming and settle for the next best thing 'cause if you're going to keep on searching for the Prince, you're going to be searching for a very long time...
