Cheating. Ah, the word which causes such heated debate among such a colourful variety of parties. Men, women, young teens in "love" or better termed as "in like". There are so many definitions for cheating, some simple, some more detailed and complex - but how many types are there? We're all familiar with cheating ranging anywhere from a hug, a kiss, dancing with the opposite sex, meeting with someone behind your other's back and even something as ridiculous as talking to another boy/girl who your boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't know can be considered cheating.
Not only this, but there are so many different types of mediums to "cheat". Msn, email, phone calls, clubbing/partying, the ever-popular Facebook, and of course text messaging. But what do we call cheating by text messages?
I overheard a girl sitting next to me in a lecture today talking about how some "guy in grade 12 is text-cheating on his girlfriend" with the girl sitting next to me. I was tempted to ask her what the hell "text-cheating" is but its a rhetorical question. It's exactly that. Cheating by text messages. It just seems so trivial that someone would go so far as to cheat by text messaging another girl. One may think that text messages don't seem important enough to be able to cause serious damage in a relationship but I guess that depends on the nature of the content in those text messages.
Maybe its just me, but I'm wondering "Why bother going to the trouble of "text-cheating"?"
If you're bored of your girlfriend that you won't text her but another girl instead then just break it off. Why sneak around? But the answers will always vary and there will always be excuses.
Point is guys/girls. Cut the crap. If your boyfriend/girlfriend isn't enough to hold your attention and affection then just break it off. It's not going to last if you're going to get bored and it doesn't make anyone happy. However, if short-term relationships are more your alley, then by all means, sneak away. I just still think its a waste of time and effort. Especially since at the core of it all, in our idealistic world, we'd all love to have a relationship with good foundations. Love, trust, communication, communication and all that jazz.
Anyways, we'll talk relationships again another day. Time to pay attention to the movie in this lecture. Good Night and Good Luck (thats the title of the movie).
